A Bay Area native, Lauren grew up singing in a musical family, and soon began playing piano by age 6. Her love for singing led her to study in Sweden and California, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is an active performer throughout the Bay Area in an extensive range of styles including opera, musical theater, sacred, contemporary classical music, and jazz. Lauren became a voice teacher for adults in 2014, focusing on singing from the natural speaking voice, and piano teacher in 2016, specializing in children ages 5-8. After experiencing the joy of teaching music to young children, Lauren learned about Music Together®’s philosophy on sharing music with children through play and joined the program.
“I believe music classes should encourage pupils to develop their artistic talents through musical play. It is such a joy to see a curious young child singing their first notes and knowing this is a gift they will develop and share with their family and community. Music can enhance anyone’s life and incorporating it into family time in early childhood can create a lifelong joy for music. Come play in class and let’s learn together!”
