Laila has been teaching Music Together® since 2011. She started singing before speaking, and she hasn't stopped since! Her mother instilled in her a passion for cooking, and her father practiced his Indian tabla drum with her sleeping in his lap. As a choir kid, she decided to pursue vocal instruction, and has been active in musical theater most of her life. Although ukulele is her instrument of choice for class, Laila also plays guitar and enjoys using her first instrument- her voice, the most. Her son Tobias and husband Mike share her love of music and the three of them can often be found making music during bath time. Teaching Music Together gives Laila joy and fulfills a passion for community building through music.
“Before teaching Music Together I took making music for granted. It turns out many of our young kids don’t get the exposure needed to stimulate musical development at a crucial time. Seeing that light go on for parents and their kids is amazing - I love people and children and enjoy building relationships through these classes. Watching children grow in classes brings me such joy and sharing my knowledge for early childhood music and movement development satisfies my intellectual side. Come sing, dance, and play with me, you’ll leave class in a great mood!”
